Practice Nurses
The practice nurses are fully trained to carry out:-
- Blood pressure checks and electrocardiograms (ECGs)
- Taking of blood samples
- All immunisations, apart from travel immunisations
- Cervical smears and advice on breast examination
- Dressings and removal of sutures
- Ear syringing
- Pregnancy testing
- Asthma Clinics
- Diabetes Clinics
- Family planning advice
- Assistance with minor surgery
Appointments to see the practice nurse can be arranged through reception.
Antenatal Clinic
Every 2nd Thursday at 9 am
Asthma
Attendance at clinic through GP referral only.
Chiropody
Every Tuesday (Appointments through Balfour Hospital, telephone 888136)
Community Psychiatric Nurse
By self referral or GP referral
Diabetic Clinic
Attendance at clinic through GP referral only
Dietetic
Attendance at clinic through GP referral only
Physiotherapy
Attendance at clinic through GP or self referral. The physiotherapist is at the practice on a Monday and Thursday each week.
Sexual Health Services
The practice offers services for, and advice on, a full range of sexual health services, including:-
- Contraception, including emergency contraception
- Implanon and other long term methods of contraception
- Management of Unplanned Pregnancy
- Sexually Transmitted Diseases
- Men who have Sex with Men
